Little Red

There once was a girl in very good shape
Who, as it was, had a bright red cape
And with the red cape adorned on her
she went to find dear old grandmother
who lived in the woods (not one mile away)
but her mother did say never to stray.

But of course, as little girls would
Red did stray into the beautiful wood
The wolf, as it was, wanted to know
where she was off to, all alone.

“To grandmother’s house,” Little Red said
“To take grandmama a loaf of my bread.”
So the wolf asked her “Where does grandmama stay?”
And Red said with a raised eyebrow,
“You ask a lot of of questions, my friend, but now
I suppose it can’t hurt to answer your question
She lives one mile in that direction.”

The wolf hurried to grandmother there
and took her clothes for him to wear.
He swallowed her whole, seasoned with limes
He grimaced and said, “Chew twenty three times!”

He climbed in bed, feeling quite alive
and waited for Little Red to arrive
and she did and what a laugh
Who ever thought a little girl could run so fast
But the wolf swallowed her and thought, yet again
I should listen to my own advice and then
a man burst in with an axe in his hand
and angrily said, “Get out of my land!”

He cut the wolf open and removed his um
While he saved them from his digestive system.

They took the wolf into the other room
and told him that he could heal and soon
he could leave and one day, maybe,
Get used to the fact the he was now a lady!

As the wolf laid there, starting to heal,
he said to them, “Never talk to your meal!”
