Dreamland of the day
Oct 15th, 2006 Posted in Blog Entries |This poem is just a fun thing I wrote about school. It is not really true, but all the same.
Dreamland of the day
When I close my eyes when I go to bed
Into a wonderful world my mind would ascend.
And in this world, sometimes I see
wonderful stories unfold just for me.
But
this world has one entrance fee:
Control is lost in this world of
me!
Scary to think, yet exiting as well,
that you are no longer the boss of yourself.
Where your mind takes you is completely unknown
Be it a land of fairies or gnomes
Be it a movie with me as the star
or Be it something completely bizarre.
Yes, you might have seen the latter
But that certainly does not matter
for this poem is not about that
it is, however, about the fact
that dreams can be scary too
And the scary dreams are also just for you!
As you ascend into your teens
Nightmares are no longer just in your dreams
For now I see how they did escape
From inside my mind to haunt me while awake.
I see many witches in this world of ours;
I see them every day for precisely six hours.
And in those hours of learning
there are devils that tell you to do their bidding
And if you fail or cannot comply
they place you in a dungeon to rot ’till you die!
Ever had a dream of utter humiliation?
No longer do you have to dream to get that sensation.
All you have to do is put one toe out of place
and scary monsters laugh in your face
Yes, you might want to cry
But that is not ‘cool’ if you are a guy.
Even though this scary world
can sometimes be the hell that was foretold,
always remember this:
To escape from the nightmare, there is only one way:
Close your eyes and fall asleep, right away!
