Just another Saturday

Jan 29th, 2005 Posted in Blog Entries | no comment »

Well, today was a phun day….and I will tell you why:

Firstly, I went to the movies, like most Saturdays. I watched “Hero”. Now I will give my thoughts on this film:

Hero is a film about a man who has trained himself for the past ten years to assasinate the king of Qin, one of the six countries which will be knows as China today. The reason he wants to assasinate him, is because the king killed his family before they could name him, so, his name is, Nameless. No, really, that is his name. So, the only way he can do this, is by being granted permission to come within ten steps of the king. In order to accomplish that, he must kill the assasins that are after the king. the entire film consists of flashbacks of how the killings of the assasins had come to pass. Many many versions of what truly happened is shown, which leaves one quite confused. what makes it even more confusing is the fact that the entire film is in Chinese, which means you have to read your way through the film.
With Jet Lee portraying the main character, you are garenteed a good actor, good coriography, and great sword fighting, as that is the theme of the movie.
This is in the end a classical Quinten Torrentino film, no doubt about that.

I also went to the park to go and chat to Mia. She always wants to know what Estiaan has to say about her…..I personally think she likes him…..but you did not hear that from me….

Other then that, I ordered the Linux Mandrake 10.1 eleven CD set, so I am going to leave Windows XP FOREVER! MUAHAHAHA! So, everyone SUPPORT OPEN SOURCE! We even have a open sorce TV Program here in South Africa, which is backed by the Shuttleworth ZFoundation…you know…the first African in space…multi billionair…..one of the richest people in the world…yeah…that guy. He used to live around the corner. Litteraly. He really lved just up the street…..

Anywho…that is all I have for today…enjoy yourself!

OH! And post comments about the film review!

FINALLY! MUAHAHAHA!

Well, the time has come…IT IS THE END OF THE WEEK! YAY!

Does anyone have any idea what this means! This means an entire weekend with no school worries! OMG! Today was so much fun, and I will tell you why….

There was supposed to be athletics today, but it was cencelled because of the rain. 99% of the school usually bunks on athelics day, because it is usually not a lot of fun, but, they always tell us that we MUST go to school on such a day. Now, almost no one showed up today for school, becuase no one knew that it was cancelled. So, the teachers decided that they are going to give us a little perk. We are all goig to write tests the whole day! MUAHAHA! I know you may ask: “But where is the fun part in all this rubbish?”, and here it comes: The catch was, that no matter how badly we did in the tests, they would give us marks for the most mundane things, so we are garenteed 100% for every test. HILARIOUS, i know! I remember that the guy behind me in Afrikaans, Braam, he is actually the one who got the feel of thse perks. The teacher gave him marks for using a clean paper, writing in blue, having a line on the paper, spelling his name correctly, putting in the date, sitting, standing, breathing, and carrying his suitcase.

HILARIOUS!!!

Oh! I know, you are probably not finding this funny, but it is!

I am trying desperetly still to get a photo of Mia and Matthew. (Mia = my best friend. Matthew = The kid I Au Pair.) I tell you! It’s impossible! They wont stand still! It seems Mia is deathly afriad of Cameras, as I told you yesterday, so, tomorrow I am going to try and catch her off gaurd…
Matthew….well, he is just not one for photos. i have a few of him, but none of them seem to look nice, and I refuse to post a second rate photo on here! muahahahahaha.

Anyway, I dont have much more to say, except that it will be cool if you could make a comment…Thanks!

NOTE: I am too lazy to think of a message of the day…any ideas?

Long time no see……

Well, I have not blogged in a while, and i have a perfectly good reason. I was unable to access the internet at the present time because certain people had to go break the telephone line…..but anyway, its not the end of the world. I shall now just tell you about my week, since today is Thursday.

This entire week was a mess because everyone had to get books for the subjects they are taking this year. i still have to take all the subjects, so its extra hard for all the grade 9’s. We suffer, because the stupid book company can’t get our books in. We order, and we dont get it. I paid for my book on Monday, and I still have not recieved it yet some others have already. I am now talking about afrikaans. I wont even mention the others!!!!!! Which include Natural Sciences, Afrikaans and IT in Action. But, no, I wont complain…

Mia and I are not going to school tomorrow, becuase it will be athelicts. Some other kids will also not be attending. Oh well. The reason: we have to sit in the 35 degree celcius sun, on the burning concrete floor from 8 am to 15:00 on our bottoms. I, myself cannot do that. My contours simply wont allow it. Enough about that…

I have survived the first week, but I am swimming in the homework already! I think I am going to die! How am I to survive! This year we are going to write GTA. It is the exam that every Grade 9 in the country has to take, because after this year, you can officially leave school and get a job. Of course, no one is stupid enough to do that, because then you are not likely to get a job, except if your life ambition is to become the street cleaner. Which I doubt….
So, I do plan to continue my studies next year into Grade 10, when I can choose subjects….it will be so much fun….

I am still trying to get a photo of Mia. She refuses to let me take one. I am telling you, she is afraid of the camera, yet she wants to be an actess. Dont get me wrong, she is an exellent actress, but you cannot be scared of a camera…..

That is all I have to say for today. Bye!

Sunday…

Jan 23rd, 2005 Posted in Blog Entries | 2 comments »

Well, today is Sunday…

You know what that means. Boredom for Africa. My granfather insists that we must do absolutly nothing on a Sunday. It is so boring. I cannot even rent a DVD. Do you have ANY idea how frustrating this is? I have to sit around the house, watch everyone sleep their life away. I can almost smell the boredom. *smells*

I dont really sleep much. I was never a compulsive sleeper. I dont see the point in spendding 10 hours with one’s eyes shut and just sitting there doing nothing. I dont know, maybe I should look into the cencept. Lol, ok, I do sleep…a bit. But only about 4 hours a day.

All this talk of sleep is making me sleepy…lets talk about something else….Tomorrow is the second week of school. I think we are actually going to start working *groans* >:( and I am really not in the mood for all that. I just wanna do nothing. It is the best. I wont say I like school, but it can be really enjoyable sometimes.

OMG! should show you a picture of Mia sometime! OMG! I will take a picture of her, and put it here. But Estiaan is already going to murder me for putting his picture on here *looks around*. I hope he doesnt hire that lame hitman he hired last time….lol. Just kidding. But he will muder me. I can garentee it.

Most people don’t like to put their photographs on the internet because either

  • They are VERY unfortunate -looking or
  • They are afraid of security issues

Now, if that were really the case….I can show you solutions for both of them. Firstly, why do people have to be so obsessed about how other people look. Don’t judge someone on how they look, and they wont judge you based on how you do. Secondly, believe me when I say that you are not nearly important enough for anyone to waste time on to come and murder. And time is money! If you are still not convinced and is sure that the entire world revolves around you, then you should consider that famous people also put their pictures on the internet and not to mention, they also actually walk around in the public! Oh my gosh! Its a miracle!

Seriously, next time someone asks you for your picture, dont be shy. Imagine me coming to murder you. *shivers at the thought*. Lol. Today I just decided to play aruond with my digital video camera. Check out it’s features. You know, all that jazz. And I descovered that I can capture video directly to my computer at double the normal quality. Isn’t that wonderful? but then I have to buy myself one of those usb extension cables so I can capture a place other then my room…. :p

Now that we are on the subject of computers… I am also looking into buying myself a chair for this computer. This thing i am currently sitting on is….murder. I want one of those soft sushy chairs..And I HAVE to buy myself a notebook this year. No, not a paper notebook. I mean a computer notebook *drools over picture of notebook* I made a scan of the one I want. Or, at least, the one that I can actually afford….sometime. I can pay it off monthly over 24 months….

I reduced the quality of the scan so that it can fit, but you can see the price! Only R8499,99 which I can pay off with R506 a month for 24 months. I know that is a lot….wait…for my american friends, let me convert that into dollar format! $1416,65 which I will pay off with $84 a months for 24 months….Its not the best, but it is all I can afford….

Well, I’ll leave you now with this pic in mind until tomorrow…

‘ello…

Today was the birthday of my friend Estiaan. He became an official 15 year old. Yay for him! I thought it whould be nice to post a pic of everyone that was there, and introduce them while I move along!

Ok, so, the guy with a red dot above his head is Estiaan. The birthday boy… :D So, let us move from the left to the right….

On the far left is Divan. Dunno what to say about him….next to him is Braam….yeah….and next to Braam is Gerhartd. These names are almost all Afrikaans, so most likely if you are from America, or England you wont be pronouncing it correctly.
the little spot of girls there are (from left) Nakita, Soria, and Natascha. They are good friends….
The guy in the front…his name is Robin…he is Estiaan’s brother.
And there is estiaan, with a dot above his head. And the two next to him I dont know so well. They are his frends.

It is not every day you are invited to a party, and this was my first invitation is probably 10 years. Shocking, I know…

I wonder what I am going to do on my 15th. Probably going to go to the movies. Take Mia ad some friends, watch something, and done. Well, not very interesting, then again, I was never a person for things like that.

Its going well with my website. We are getting traffic like its out of fasion! I wont bore you with the tech bits. I suppose it turned out to be a good idea to move to our actual home page. I feel so happy! Its an emotional moment! :p

I dont have much more to say, so i suppose I should end this little entry…

Hello…

I went to school this morning at 7:45 am. It seems that I am now back to my old routines. I will miss this holiday that has passed, but the new school year lies ahhead for me to embrace, and accept….unfortunatly…
One cannot always control what happenens to you, r the ones you love, which I realised today when I had to walk from my school to my house. Not that far, but I have never done it before. My parent’s friend had to apply for the new id documents, because the one she got, did not have a barcode on. Stupid government. The reason is that they had to stand in the quee from 11:00 am and the only finished at 15:00. I was not prepared to wait so long for them t pick me up, since school comes out at 14:00.
Tomorrow I have to go to a birthday party at one of my friends’ house. He is turning 15, and is having a pool party. yay. : I am not really in the mood, but I dont want to hurt anyone’s feelings, so I’ll go. The only thing that bothers me about him, is the fact that he swears a lot I wish he didn’t…because I dont like it, and I think it bothers Mia aswell.
Mia ia my best friend in the whole wide world. She has helped me through some tough times, and has celebrated with me in my happiest hour. She does a lot for me. Sometimes I feel as though she is bending backwords just to help me. I don’t like it when people do that. It bugs me. But I can’t do anything bout it. i don’t want to tell her, in case she actually isn’t.
You have probably noticed I am not like most other people…(no, I’m not gay) I am a person set more on my friends, family, money, computers, and movies, then on the girl next door. maybe there is something wrongwith me…. don’t know. I keep on hearing that on this age you are supposed to be into girls and stuff. Well, maybe I am psychologically disturbed or something. The thing is, I am just not so…concentrated on it. How can I put it? I acknoidge a girl for being a girl, but never really consider her as a gf, or undress her with my eyes : . I dont know…maybe I will figure myself out in the months to come…i do hope so.

Talk to you later…
